People’s Kitchen Food for a Future fundraiser

People’s Kitchen is a community café where people can get a good vegan meal for a suggested donation.

Tonight’s meal is to raise funds for Food for a Future, a vegan outreach project running workshops, talks, displays and cookery demonstrations at summer gatherings.

On the menu-
Main: Spicy Minted Seitan and BBQ Pulled Jackfruit Kebabs with a selection of sauces.
Dessert: AquaFaba Nottingham Mess.

Makarouna Mbawkha and CouscousThis Saturday is a very special PK presented by the Sumac’s very own Women’s group, NG7 Women Together. The menu is inspired by traditional Libyan dishes, including:

Carrot and Lentil soup

Couscous and vegetables

Baba Ghanoush

Magroot (sweet pastries filled with dates and soaked in syrup)

Mint tea

Food will be served from 7pm, and the bar will be serving soft drinks until approx 9pm after which patrons may purchase alcohol.

Money raised will go to aid child refugees.

People’s Kitchen for Palestine

On Saturday 16th October, as part of Veggies Catering Campaign‘s 37th Anniversary Weekend, long-time volunteer Steve is preparing a Palestinian Meal to support the Palestine Solidarity Campaign in raising funds to send volunteers to help pick the next Palestinian Olive Harvest.

Food is usually served at 7pm until all gone, but on this occasion will be available from 5pm.
