We are grateful for the continued support shown to the Green Festival. Like you, we are looking forward to the next event on Sunday 13th September 2026. The event has been running for over 30 years and has seen many changes and improvements in recent years.
The Festival continues to be supported by a wide range of local talented performers, musicians, family entertainers, speakers and educators.
The event now extends onto the grass area for the Family Zone and the Speakers Forum aka Knowledge Garden is now well established.
Many more stalls are now accommodated, beyond Lime Tree Avenue, into the Family Zone, around to Feargus O’Connor Walk and the Chinese Bells into the Rose Garden. We hope that we have an appropriate mix of small green businesses, food providers, campaigns and charities, all of whom are important to the Nottingham Green Festival.
This year we invited the Cycling Zone to expand into the Arboretum Gardens opposite the Bandstand, to include the pedal-powered Mammoth Cinema.
Some things haven’t really taken off, such as a second acoustic or busking area.
We also have vision to extend through the tunnel to maximise use of the Arboretum site, right through to the Mansfield Road entrance.
We need your visions too.
You are invited to join us on Sunday 7th December at 2pm at the Sumac Centre.
You are welcome to arrive sooner to enjoy the famous Sumac Sunday Brunch (11am to 2pm) and the Forest Fields Social Club aka Sumac Bar will be open through to 4pm. Veggies Catering Campaign will provide their ever popular ‘Samosas for Social Change’, cakes, teas & coffee and soft drinks.

We’ve got you covered! With a mix of tasty starters, mains, sides and desserts demonstrated by FFAF volunteers which you’ll get to taste for yourselves!
The event is free entry but donations to FFAF very welcome. There will also be a raffle with vegan friendly prizes to help fund raise for our future events so we can continue to show people how easy and tasty vegan food can be while doing vegan outreach.
Followed by social at the Forest Fields Social Club aka Sumac Bar from about 7pm.

Now a long time Nottingham resident and social activist, Alan Lodge, ‘Tash’ comes from a free festival and traveller background. Living in old buses, trucks and caravans, he drove around the country on ‘the circuit’ with his family and friends.
Since the late 1970’s he has been photographing events and the people around him, with One Eye on the Road and always another on the response of the police.
Join us at Sumac Centre on the early evening of Saturday 7th June for a display of Tash’s photos, and a discussion with Tash about free festivals and wider issues of Policing and Protest.
This will no doubt include his activism in Nottingham from Critical Mass to Heckler & Koch, from Nottm Indymedia to the Green Festival.
There will be snacks from Veggies and a social at Sumac’s Forest Fields Social Club bar afterwards.
40 years ago, Molesworth peace camp, part of a campaign organised from Nottingham Rainbow Centre, was evicted by thousands of police and army, in one of the most expensive evictions in British history. Many of those evicted formed a ‘Peace Convoy’.
On 1st June 1985 Tash documented the prearranged police ambush of the Peace Convoy, travelling though Wiltshire for the annual Fee Festival at Stonehenge. This has been been dubbed the Battle of the Beanfield.
Whilst the Sumac Centre event will travel with Tash from the 1970’s to today, the Five Leaves event focuses his lens on the 40th Anniviversary of the Battle of the Beanfield.
