Join us at 1pm to share food, before workshop from 2pm – 5pm
Tag: Community (Page 8 of 8)
An opportunity for community groups in Nottinghamshire, Derbyshire, Nottingham and Derby focused on tackling climate change and other environmental problems to meet to share their projects, successes, struggles and ideas. There will also be workshop focused on creating and maintaining a healthy culture within groups.
The event will begin with a bring and share lunch – please bring something to share (let us know if you have any dietary requirements). NB: Sumac’s kitchen is strictly vegan, but vegetarian food can be brought into the room we are meeting in, so long as it doesn’t go into the kitchen.
If you are part of a community group and would like to bring a short workshop/talk about a project you are running/have run please get in touch. Otherwise, come and be inspired.
We are running a similar event in Chesterfield on 23rd March. You are welcome to attend whichever event is more convenient for you, regardless of which county you live in.
Friday 4th January 2019, 7pm- 10.30pm
We are a time bank, centred on the NG7 area of Nottingham. Members carry out jobs for each other (non-professionally) in exchange for Time Credits rather than money – one credit for one hour’s work. Examples of such jobs include: transporting people and goods, massage, IT repairs, gardening and befriending.
We also hold monthly meetings to organise our activities, and regular social events which help bring us together. We network with other community groups and use Timebanking UK software for our administration. Groups such as the Sumac can become group members.
The Winter Social is a Members and friends event. Extra visitors are welcome. There will be a veggie buffet (mostly vegan), a quiz and a tomboa.
